Celebrity Cruise Lines

Saratoga Travel Center
Celebrity Cruise Lines inside passage voyage sails from Vancouver, BC, Canada with port stops in Ketchikan, AK; Juneau, AK, Icy Straight Point, AK and a visit to the Hubbard Glacier.

The Infinity is very well appointed and comfortable. From the moment you step on and are greeted with Champagne or orange juice, to the overflowing buffet, and the evening dining you feel the excellence Celebrity is known for.

The new Ketchikan is set up to accommodate cruising, with the lines of shops, most of which have come in primarily to support the average cruise traveler, looking much like an arrival to a Caribbean port. If you are not a shopper, Ketchikan has some historical value; a museum, some historical structures, and totems.

Juneau, is the Alaskan state capital. Walking here is exercise, being built into the side of the mountain, the streets are very steep, but worth the work. A good amount of history has been preserved here and sightseeing is enjoyable. For those who like nature, there are almost endless opportunities to explore. Aside from the Red Dog Saloon, which is very near to the port, the most major attraction is the Mendenhall glacier.
Icy Straight Point, AK is a native community, with minimal shopping, and dozens of excursions to explore, fish, hike, view wildlife, and even brags the longest zip line ride available. It is more reminiscent of what Alaska is thought to be, natural and rugged.
This is a trip where the journey is as enjoyable as the destiny, and Celebrity Cruise Lines makes every effort to make certain that everyone is comfortable and enjoying their holiday. We would love to help you plan your trip here in the Queensbury office, or visit our other locations in Amsterdam, Saratoga, Queensbury, or Plattsburgh.

How about a Disney Cruise

I had the opportunity to sail aboard The Disney Wonder. Disney Cruises are excellent for families and provide spacious staterooms.

Our first stop was Nassau, where you can enjoy excursions on a water taxi to take you to Paradise Island or just relax and explore onboard. After a day in port, celebrate on deck with live music and fireworks.

Our second stop was Disney’s private Island Castaway Cay, Bahamas. Here there was something for everyone; a teen beach, adults-only beach and a family beach. Activities included snorkeling, kayaking, banana boat rides, a barbeque lunch and bicycling around the Island. For families with young children, the nursery, Flounders Reef (12months to 3 years) is available.

There were opportunities onboard to meet the Characters, see Broadway quality shows with Disney’s magical touch. A favorite show is The Golden Mickey’s, a spoof of the Golden Globe Awards with a satellite visit from Tom Hanks, and Roy Disney (Walt’s nephew).

Our wait staff rotated dining rooms every evening with us so that we could enjoy different dining experiences. One night we ate at The Animators Palate, Parrott Cay another night and Tritons with a French Menu and theme the next night. The food is superb! A specialty Restaurant called Palo’s is an option at a nominal charge.

Interested in Russia?

I recently had the pleasure of taking an escorted tour with Insight Vacations, a preferred partner with AAA Northway. I saw fantastic sights: St. Isaacs Cathedral, the fortress of Sts. Peter and Paul, Decembrist’s Square, the great cathedral of Kazan and the Winter Palace. The Hermitage is full of an amazing collection of paintings and art objects. We visited the fabulous gardens and fountains of Peter the Greats summer residence. The city is nicknamed the Venice of the North because its’ many waterways, canals and bridges. This is a beautiful city with restored buildings and awe inspiring architecture. Too soon, it was time to enjoy an overnight train to Moscow in a comfortable high speed train.

Moscow has a different style and architecture. We toured Red Square, which is bordered by St. Basils Cathedral, and GUM, a grand department store full of the latest and greatest. One of my favorite excursions was a tour of the Metro. The Metro system is one of the best in the world. It is clean, safe, and full of beautiful art such as mosaics, sculpture, painting, stained glass and fabric murals done by the best artists of the world. It was a wonderful experience.

Our tour guides were professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. It was a wonderful trip and I would encourage anyone who is interested in a trip to Russia to give us a call! We would love to help you plan your trip here in the Saratoga office, or visit our other locations in Amsterdam, Schenectady, Queensbury or Plattsburgh.
